I started attending a drawing & watercolour class at the local community centre as a way to get out and socialise after Covid. I live in Melbourne and we had severe lockdowns during that period.
It was well outside my comfort zone to seek out something like that but I am glad that I did. I've learned so much from our teacher and am starting to like the drawings I create. It's a fun group and it's good to see everyone's work and get their feedback on yours.
My first class was in July 2022 and I hadn't drawn anything since Year 9 at school. I tried watercolour but am extremely bad at it. I may try it again in the future but I don't think I am patient enough for it. I draw manily portraits, marine animals and birds....I haven't really ventured into landscapes yet. I've done a little with charcoal but prefer graphite or coloured pencil. |
