Calm Of The Lotus Flower by Helen Brauns

Features

ARTIST NOTES: While staying in Luang Prabang, I was captivated by a magical lotus garden that surrounded our hotel’s dining area. Each morning and evening, we were immersed in the quiet beauty of blooming lotus flowers floating across a large, tranquil pond. Vibrant fish glided beneath the surface, while delicate dragonflies danced from one lotus to another, bringing the whole garden to life. After long days exploring the temples and streets of this enchanting UNESCO-listed city, returning to the stillness of the lotus garden felt deeply restorative. There was a rare sense of calm in that space — a gentle contrast to the energy of discovery. This acrylic painting captures that peaceful atmosphere: the harmony of water, movement, and light; the elegance of the lotus; and the quiet magic that makes Luang Prabang one of the most captivating cities in Asia. Finished in a high-quality, tasteful dark timber shadow frame, this piece brings a sense of serenity and refined warmth to any space. If Luang Prabang isn’t already on your travel list, it should be.
